A Ground breaking Zoom concert of new feminist Jewish music featuring Rabbis Shefa Gold, Hanna Tiferet Siegel and many other talented song writers and performers, organized by Rabbi Goldie Milgram of Florida on November 15, 2020.

Rabbi Milgram invited me to join this august line up with my original song, “Shiviti Shechina.” Click on the highlighted song title to see our sweet youngest son, Raviv, watch the concert during the pandemic lockdown in Gottinghen, Germany, where he lives with his talented wife, Ma Zhen, a visual anthropologist, who filmed the happy occasion. My favorite part is when Raviv says, “Hello!” to Zhen at the end. Wait for it!

The first line of the song is from Tehillim (Psalms) 16:18, “I place G-d before me always (Shiviti Hashem l’negdi tamid). The second line is from Mishlei (Proverbs) 3:6, “In all your ways, know Him (B’chol drachecha da’ayhu). I adapted the third line by replacing the word “Hashem” with “Shechina” (the Divine feminine or the Presence of G-d). The last line is, “In all your ways know Her (B’chol drachayich da’iha).

Alexander Massey, a composer of sacred music in Oxford England, transcribed the song for an on-line anthology of Jewish Music in Germany.
